Our Beliefs

One God

We believe there is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4): The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who subsist in unity and also as three separate distinct Persons (1 John 5:7,8).

Jesus Christ  The Son of God

Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, which is to say, that He is Himself very God; He took upon Him our nature, being conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary; He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world; He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; He ascended into heaven in that body glorified, where He is now, our interceding High Priest; He will come again personally and visibly to set up His kingdom and to judge the quick and the dead.

(Colossians 1:15; Philippians 2:5-8; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Peter 2:24-25; Luke 24; Hebrews 4:14-16; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 11:15-17; 20:4-6, 11-15)

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant, counselor and instructor and His work is to reveal Christ, to convict of sin, to lead to repentance, to guide believers, to comfort, to strengthen, and to sanctify the soul (John 14:16, 15:26, 16:8-11).

The Holy Bible / The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word, without error and is the sole authority for life. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God (Psalm 12:6; 2 Timothy 3:16) and are the only sufficient, certain, and authoritative rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience.

The Fall of Man

God originally created man in His own image (Genesis 1:27); but, through the temptation of Satan, man transgressed the command of God and fell from his original holiness and righteousness; whereby his posterity [i.e. descendants] inherit a nature corrupt and wholly opposed to God (Romans 5:10) and His law, are under condemnation, and as soon as they are capable of moral action, become actual transgressors.

Sin & It’s Result

Disobedience to the Law is sin (1 John 3:4) and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

God’s Love (Agape)

God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16).

The Mediator

Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the divinely appointed mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) between God and man. Having taken upon Himself human nature (Philippians 2:7), yet without sin, He perfectly fulfilled the law, suffered, and died upon the cross for the salvation of sinners (Romans 5:8). He was buried, rose again on the third day, and ascended to His Father; at whose right hand He lives forever (Revelation 1:18) to make intercession for His people. He is the only Mediator; the Prophet, Priest, and King of the church; and Sovereign of the Universe.

Repentance / Man’s Need for God

Human is a sinner by birth (Psalm 51:5) and came short of glory of God (Romans 3:23). Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because we all sinned (Romans 5:12), but by the abundant grace of God (1 John 1:9), if we confess our sins, Lord Jesus is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

New Birth and Salvation

Salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (John 1:12; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19) and that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again; the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; it is instantaneous and not a process.

The Church

The Church is body of Christ (Colossians 1:18, Romans 12:4-5) and the Lord Jesus is the Head of the Church (Ephesians 5:23), which is composed of all His true believers and disciples, and in Him is invested supremely all power for its government. Believers will continue in devoting to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers (Acts 2:42).

Baptism

Baptism is a command/ordinance of Lord Jesus Christ, obligatory upon every believer, wherein he is immersed in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Baptism must follow repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; it cannot precede them in any form. Water baptism (by immersion) is not to be made a means of salvation or a method of joining the church.

Laying on of hands

We practice ‘laying on of hands’ following baptism. This is to express the existence of a relationship that comes into being when the church ‘lays hands’ up on those who have testified to their union with Christ in baptism: they are by virtue of their testimony in baptism members of the “one body” and they are not alone anymore in the body of Christ.

The Lord’s Table

We practice the weekly observance of the Lord’s Table (I Corinthians. 11:25, Do this in remembrance of me). The Lord’s Table is placed at the Centre to denote that all believers have equal access to the Table of the Lord. The Table is open to all believers regardless of their nationality and color, caste, creed and status. However, all believers are exhorted to take part in the Table in a worthy manner.

Intercessory Prayer

Following the Lord’s Table, one of the brethren leads in intercessory prayer, reminding everyone that the broken pieces of bread which remain speaks of the members of the body of Christ worldwide.

Worship

One of the unique aspects of this ministry is to teach and practice Biblical worship. Believers – both men and women – are encouraged to worship the Lord audibly one by one. Specific time is set apart for worship. Worship service is preceded by a brief exhortation focusing on Christ.

Place of worship

Every local church takes the initiative to construct / rent an appropriate facility within their means. Every assembly is autonomous and self-supporting. However, the spiritual unity and fellowship of all scattered assemblies in the same vision is observed.

Holy Convocations

This is the hallmark of Bro. Bakht Singh’s ministry. This is based on Leviticus 23:4 (It is a concept of the corporate life, worship and devotion of God’s people found in the Old Testament). God willing, this will be held every year and helps meet believers from the USA and other countries, thus helping the church to renew the vision and strengthen the fellowship.

Following the Great Commission

Following the injunction in Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”, the church undertakes to evangelize and involve every believer of the fellowship in this endeavor. The church organizes Gospel raids on government holidays and other occasions to carry out the Lord’s command to preach the Gospel (Matthew 28:19.20). On special occasions such as Holy Convocation, church anniversaries etc, Gospel procession is taken out locally with the permission of the authorities concerned.

Future / Hope

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first (1 Thessalonians 4:16). Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And, thus we shall always be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
